FIBERGLASS MATERIALS DESCRIPTION
Fiberglass Cloth

Fiberglass cloth pound for pound the strongest of the fiberglass materials is woven from fine yarns of various twist and ply construction into a variety of weights and widths. The cloth weaves allow it to conform to curved surfaces with mininum fitting. Cloth weight is categorized by weight per square yard.

Fiberglass Mat

Fiberglass mat reinforcement is a felted matrix of chopped glass fibres held together with a binder. Chopped strand mat is categorized by weight per square foot, is easy to wet out, gives good bonding between layers of woven roving or cloth and is comparitively low in cost.

Woven Roving

Woven Roving is a coarse, open weave fabric that gives high strength to a laminate at a reasonable cost. Woven Roving is made from rovings which consists of continuous strands of glass fibers grouped together to form untwisted yarns or rope-like structures. These roving are arranged into a lattice work weave to form the woven roving material. Woven Roving is a little harder to wet out than mat or cloth but bulks up laminate thickness quickly.

Fiberglass Cloth Tape

Fiberglass cloth tape is a 6oz. cloth tape with finished edges. This tape is mostly used and great for seam work.
